Thermostat - 87 to 93 5.0

It's a good idea to replace your thermostat every time you do coolant maintenance like flushing, hose replacement, etc.  Altered Fox recommends the 192-degree t-stat for mostly stock setups running on the street.  You can go 180 if you're running hard on the track and don't care about efficiency or emissions.  If you're running at 200 degrees or more consistently, swapping the t-stat from 190 to 180 probably won't help.  You probably have other issues causing it to run hot. 

You can easily test your thermostat before installing it by boiling it a pot of water and watching for it to open with the water reaching the spec temperature.
